The Diversity and Inclusion Committee actively promotes diversity and expression among performers, instructors, and leadership within the pageantry arts. The committee will seek to look at and address ways to create a climate where conversation, debate, and problem solving are the cornerstone to creating a future in the marching arts, where representation of all cultures have an equal voice.
This committee grew out of a conversation in Podcasts 534 and 535. Hear a podcast about this new committee on August 4.
Your interest in applying to be a part of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee is greatly appreciated and welcomed, as community members like you are what sustain our continual growth. Issues related to inclusivity within the pageantry community are difficult to address and in an effort to address them, it is important to take the most important step, which is to get more members of our community involved in the conversation. We need more knowledge, skills, and awareness to be a more diverse community. As a group of leaders, this committee will serve to bring positive change within our activity by assessing the problems we face as they relate to diversity and inclusion, while working to develop effective initiatives to improve the pageantry culture to greater heights.
